Quick couple questions I've token on a new apprentice and I have been told I will get £1500 grant after 13 weeks from NSA or something because I took them on full time but I wanted to know can we get any other support or grants to expand the business... I've heard different council give different help but you got to spend big to get something back or it's not for flooring business help.. Any of u guys had any extra help?
Have you put them on a actual apprenticeship? I wasnt aware you could get a grant without them being on a official apprenticeship? If there on a official apprenticeship you can get full funding for their training and NVQ assessment once training is complete. You can also get a additional grant of up to £1500 to help cover wages etc while at college / FloorSkills etc. If you trade inside of London then you can get up to £3000. This is if they are on a textile / impervious apprenticeship. if they are on a wood flooring apprenticeship (note that there is only 1 training centre running the official wood apprenticeship) then you cna get a lot more than the £1500. However funding is different and is paid direct to the employer 1/4 behind course costs.
Hi Yes he will be signed up to a official one (sorry it's one of your competitors in London) You said u get additional 1500 is that the same as what I was saying or is that different ??? I was talking about the one u get after 13 weeks ?
Speak to your apprenticeship provider, they should be advising you and helping you out. I dont know what they do in regards to the grant. Ours doesnt have a set time period of when the grant comes in and you will only get the grant once.
LOL, No idea mate. The college dont give us any set time period. However i will chase it for you as i would of presumed you should of had it by now. Also please note that the additional grant is not guaranteed. its a extra colleges put you forward for. However as far as im aware every one has been successful so far.
