    A good idea or stupidity?

I usually hammer in ring shanks and screw any bits that don't play nice. Never had a problem with this for lvt apart from it being time consuming. Just been given an 18g nailer and was wondering if this would do the job.

The nail gun must fire ring shanks not brad nails

It only fires brads. Been offered a 16g one too, any better or still a no-no on straight nails?

Thanks man. I'll be getting one of those in the future, but it's out of reach at the moment. I'm looking sub 250. Would I be better off with the Maestri ME606 (does it have bump fire?) or the mallet driver? I'd guess they'd both be as quick as each other?

    Not for ply

You could buy a pneumatic coil nailer for 250

Spotnailer (mallet one with 22mm staples) is fine for chipboard if space staples correctly, floorboards you need nails/screws, proper nails mind
