Hi! I’ve recently moved into a bungalow built in 1980. Carpets are knackered and want to replace with reclaimed junckers throughout. Actually supposed to be delivered next week. I have just realised I can’t apply an epoxy liquid dpm over the mastic. What is the simplest solution here? I would imagine the slab had a plastic DPM…no sign of damp anywhere…? Any advice appreciated

Ok cool. I’ve downloaded the app. I can’t seem to link it to this forum. I can’t remember my password to the forum and the app says I don’t exist as a member I’ll try uploading?

This is throughout the gaff. I’m a carpenter and have laid many floors but only a few stuck on screed. The last one we primed with epoxy first I remember…

you could do an Ardex NA sandwich. Ardex NA - epoxy DPM - Ardex NA. You don't have to prime the initial NA layer but I would.

Yeah I had a look at that one, unsure if it will go over the mastic … would be a great solution if so

Any idea about Bona R410? Will go over bitumen, but expensive!

If you wanted to DPM yeah.

You could also Hygro test and if within tolerance for your flooring, then just a single layer of NA will be sufficient

Well at least I know there’s a dpm now, knocked a wall out and can see clear visqueen down the cavity …

Thanks for that. Although I’m not sure I understand…the NA is to encapsulate the bitumen, as the epoxy dom won’t stick to it, then I apply a dpm over the NA , so why can’t I then just stick the boards to the epoxy…. Or…could I float 6mm ply over a polythene dpm and stick my junkers to that? ( radical I know … ) Just trying to avoid spending £££ and loads of time ✌
