Carpet trimmer marking skirt

    any good tips for preventing carpet trimmer from marking the blessed
    Matt finish skirtings everyone seems to have now,
    What happened to good old
    gloss !

    Cut a bit of ice cream tub and stick it to the plate or a bit of flotex

    Used to have a a specially designed Teflon ?
    Plastic thing but always fell off and got lost
    :(

    Depends on what trimmer you have. Some are angled so you won't mark the skirting if held at the right angle.

    Glue some art felt on the backplate, like the material a snooker table is covered in or as suggested flotex.

    Flotex sounds good only trouble is I only fit it once every 15 years lol
    Problem with my trimmer is the plate is smooth not sure if it gonna stick , do the new ones come with something on the plate ?

    Need advice , what you lads would do? Fitting hesian carpet on concrete stairs but the wood stringy is bout 10 mm gap but not even all way down , do i turn carpet like open plan stairs or just fit it net ?

    Get some adhesive Velcro strip then just use the softer of the two parts works a treat :)
