I measured laminate and carpet for a house and was told to expensive for laminate but have got hall stair landing carpet, so I get there and another floorlayer is fitting the laminate and tells me straight away I need to trim the kitchen door, as the door opens into the kitchen I wasn't fitting I told him it was his problem and fitted the hall carpet 2 days later I was back to do stairs and landing and found this
customer wasn't to happy about it and was going to get him back to move the bar or me to replace the carpet at his cost as she hasn't paid him yet I think there may be a unhappy cheap floorlayer
did customer realise why they should have paid more for a proper job or do they still think the price was worth it?
I like the bottom board in doorway, don't think that's a good idea he needs a good slap and defo not paying.
She did say I know cheap isn't always best but just didn't have the money to pay anyone else o do it there's also a long lump in kitchen where they knocked a wall down and he went straight over it making boards flex either side, I have explained to her it's not prepped properly so going to ask him about it when he ones back, problem is there first ime buyers ans all money sucked up in house and want everything done at once rather than bit by bit over time
first timers are pain in the arse customers, they'd be better living without for a few months then doing it right first time, much much cheaper in the long run
Think it's the excitement of having there own pace thy all wana rush to finish it there own way, I never had carpet in my first lounge for just under a year because new kitchen was needed more
