no worries, just remind me to tape up the letterbox before I start!

We would have to get the room completely cleared for "glass like levelling"

We had the snagging guy from the conservatory company round today and he agreed it wasn't very good. He is going to stick on the skirting boards and then get them to make the floor level with that. Sounds a bit odd to me!

    Any more pictures mate?
I went to look at one today and the builder has screeded it, looks great but he's used a water mix and I will have to put a dpm down so have to find out what screed he used

A few more photos after the skirting board was stuck on yesterday.

This is where the new screed meets the original floor.

I guess they will just pour on more of the latex until it reaches the bottom of the skirting boards? Any problems with it going on top of what they put down the other day?

You will be pleased to hear that Merit got the gig :) unfortunately for him it means he has to sort out the mess the builders left lol.

We decided on the Polyflor Kudos Oak after long deliberation. I think it will be much better than the Karndean KT we were originally planning to have.

Yeah the Kudos plank is so much better than the knight tile. Just need to sort that little mess out in the conservatory and we should be good to go!

It's been a long wait but it's nearly time for our new floor to be installed :)

Here are a few "before" photos. Merit will be happy to see that I've cleared away 90% of the toys and random junk off the floor!

Make most it doesn't happen often I think most customers borrow furniture and toys from friends and put in rooms just to **** us off

makes a refreshing change, doesn't happen often although the correct way for any flooring to be installed is to have a completely empty room.

I could probably get most of it out of there. I'm not looking forward to moving the hi-fi rack though, the wiring is a nightmare! Also the rack, speakers and TV stand all have floor spikes - what do I do about those?

It is nice when its empty but will have to disagree with " the correct way for any flooring to be installed is to have a completely empty room " I have fitted thousands of kitchens with white goods in and hundreds of lvt jobs with sofas tables tv units etc and can say fitted correctly and perfect just means moving things around not ideal I know but you can still do a perfect correct job

lol yeh, its not the 'correct way for flooring to be laid'
    Yet
Its the best way for a fitter to proceed with laying the floor
and a happy fitter afterall is........

with carpets the rooms should be empty so you get the stretch from the gripper not the furniture
