Quick question under the above act the council can serve a notice imposing what hours building work can be carried to reduce noise and nuincance Hours are as follows Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm Saturday 8am to 1pm And Sunday and Bank holiday no work So does this apply to carpet fitting and if yes any where to get around it
Dont know, but wouldnt have thought carpets come under building works, as for insurance purposes carpets are classed as contents, as they are not a permanent fixture, whereas hard floors/vinyl/lvt/ceramics come under buildings cocker.
Ive had the old bill come round and tell me to stop grippering at seven o'clock, neighbour kicking up a fuss, was actually glad they did got me out of doing it, was some cheap crap from carpet ****e on that thick black foam underlay (wood underlay imo but marketed as dual purpose in there) didnt go back
Work ie.. nose making times depend on each council rules? I've had this problem before fitting domestic carpets on a late one & on contract jobs near or under homes ! Had a guy in Edinburgh who lived above a shop I was working in complain to the council so a council inspector came round & layed out very strick rules & times for making noise ! We had to work late & on weekends so had to be as quiet as possible but every so often I wacked a hammer off the deck for a laugh & the guy came down so I denied it Lol He started complaining every 10 mins whether I'd made noise or not ? The council threatened to stop all work at the site but I'd nearly finished the job by then so made as much noise as possible on the last day during the allotted hours & the guy was well peeved ha ha ha
