Hi All, I'm moving into a new build house in the next 4-6 weeks and I've had a guy come out to measure up and quote for LVT flooring throughout the whole downstairs of the house. We were initially looking at Polyflor Colonia Village Oak but have since changed to Polyflor Expona Everglade Oak which is more expensive but seems to have a better wear lay and gauge. He has quoted the below, £3655.56 which is DPM, Screed and the fitting/glue down with a border then the herringbone pattern. Total area is 56SQM. Does the above sound expensive as I've never had LVT before so don't know the process or work involved. Thanks
thats really positive to hear. I thought it was expensive but as I said I’ve never had LVT so wasn’t quite sure on going rates. With the Expona on top it’s coming in at around £5300.
I wish it was haha!!! is textures/J2 the brand? I assume it’s still not that outrageous in terms of price?
Ok will take a look. Utility/WC 3.6 x 2.2 = 7.92 SQM Kitchen Diner 5.5 x 3.5 = 19.25 SQM Living Room 5.1 x 3.5 = 17.85 SQM Front Door 1.7 x 1.7 = 2.89 SQM If the above are my room dimensions as measured by the fitter and each box contains 3.34SQM, how many boxes would be needed if being laid in herringbone with a single border. He has quoted 20/21 boxes which is 66.8 - 70SQM. I get the total SQM with 10% waste as 52.70 Thanks
100% having a border. I queried with him and asked him to double check, he said it’s usually 15% wastage if being laid in herringbone format with a border and that’s why he suggested 20 packs. He also said one pack would be incase of damages and for future reference should anything need replacing.
Extreme! I've never worked 15% on herringbone myself, usually end up with around 1/4 - half box, more than enough to keep aside to replace the odd one here and there if need be
