Damp check after screeding floor

    So approx 45 sq m they screeded and tiled over the old tiles which have been down for years and years.

    Rest was new..

    I don't know if you can see, the time seems to have lifted, not sure if a fridge leg caught it or not

    How old is your house mate , how old is the floor with the tiles on ? Is it older then 1965? Or ever 1975 ?

    Not sure how old the floor with the tiles are as only had the place for 4 months.

    The property itself has been here for 80/90 years...well the part with existing tile .. The new area is extensions which probably done in last 20ish years

    Any old screed / concrete before 1970 won’t have a damp proof sheet under it so a epoxy dpm should of been used. The company who did it should of checked this.

    I’d have recommended they got a flooring grade asphalt then a screed, would’ve been good to go.

    Always a good way that. When we uplift parquet wood we always go down the asphalt route.
