As deeper pile carpets are the fashion at the moment we're finding more and more doors need shortening, do you guys do them or let the customer deal with them via a joiner and if you do what do you charge?
I cut them £!5 per door . use wolf piranha door saw , expensive to buy but soon get your money back we average 15 doors a week
We just do them the traditional way, take them off and use an electric plane charge £25 per door, just watched the video of the wolf piranha door saw though, that looks like nice bit of kit
I used to to that , and couldn't go back to that way !, knocking the paint out of screws taking screws out cutting then re hanging ,Far to much time we used to hate walking in to a job and have to cut 8 doors like that Now when we see doors that want cutting we rub our hands together My record was 8 doors (oak veneer) machine off the van and all 8 cut in 20 minutes l keep a tally of how many we do weekly and last year including 8 weeks lock down it was 500 doors that's £7500 It even goes through fire doors well worth the investment and sometimes quicker to cut a door than it is to take it off the hinges
Not cheap about £135 +Vat I get them sharpened for £18 If used carefully I get a year a blade Still worth the money IMHO
