Evening, As some on here already know i'm selling LVT all day, everyday. And i often get asked by friends ect how to fit LVT, and of course i tell them to go find a decent and proper LVT fitter.. BUT unfortunately there are rogues out there offering temptingly low prices! What key advise can I give to help them separate good fitters out from the crap ones!?
Buy cheap pay twice, get a few quotes off of preferably people that have qualifications and pictures of past work, if they are good they will charge more and will have a lead time, beware the cheap fitter who can do tomorrow
Funny that Austin. I'm screeding a floor for someone in Liverpool who has a family member at QA. So I'm prep and just fitting. Said I'm to dear lol. I just want to do it right.
A good installer won't offer their services next week., and unlikely next month..., and will charge a good amount... Also, have you contacted the likes of Karndean to obtain a list of local fitters in your area? (I know they have a list of trained installers that companies can get hold of), might help? (Again, that doesn't make them good installers though) You need to get an installer or 2 on your books if you're selling LVT all day everyday???
great comments above!! interesting about the waiting times... hadnt really spared it a thought - makes total sense!! Darren... at least you know your fitting good stuff!!
As a rep Austen you should know how to fit lvt and what to ask your retailers when introducing the products, go to courses, demo days etc it all helps, I'm not digging at you Austen just offering some friendly advice. Trust me only deal with customers that know what they're doing, much better in the long run
Now you know you will get a call to fix it when it all goes wrong. I would have told her to get him to do all of it.
