I would like some advice please on fitting carpet to stone stairs. We have an old Victorian house with Yorkshire stone stairs. I have bought some cheap latex backed runners and am not sure the best way to attach them to the stairs. I am concerned that grippers would shred the latex. The fitting advice offered on the shop's website is to staple them, but obviously that is not going to work with stone. Would a double stick method be suitable in this situation? And if so, any recommendations of which glue / underlay to use?
    Thanks, Andy

Double stick. I’d never use spray on stairs as a primary fix.

Fair enough.. id say that's OTT for a "cheap latex backed carpet" in my opinion but we all have our own way of doing things! :)
