Really would appreciate advice on how to get a carpet up 9 flights of stairs. The carpet is in a roll is 4 meters by 7 metres. There is a lift but it is about 1.5 metres x 1.5 metres by 2 meters high . It is a Victoria carpet, am worried about bending it.

    5 ways

    1. Take out a window and get a cherry picker or crane to lift it up

    2. Re roll the carpet long ways and roll up very slack and snake it up with several pairs of hands on it

    3. Cut it in two bits and re join when it's up

    4.swop it for carpet tiles

    5. Move

Loose slack, u-bend it, jump in the lift (prey it dont stop half way) then lay it out in the room as much as you can. Chop to size and leave it for a bit

Victoria carpet is ok to bend
It’s a lockweave backing and is great to stretch out scar creases

4 x 7 that’s nothing! Get the pole out the middle, put 2-3 bends in it and get it up the stairs. Lay it out over night and power stretch or stretch the following day.

If it was a 5mt x 9mt jacaranda carpet you may have fun, Victoria carpet will be fine, as above, loose roll it again and run it up in the lift. Just leave it to settle and lay out properly

never had a problem bending carpets in lifts no matter what brand really, even left some carpets on site once and some idiot folded it up like a pretzel for 2 weeks, still got all the creases out with a power stretcher.
