What distance do you fit from the walls? Reading its 2/3 of pile of the carpet? So on a carpet 12mm you would have the distance of 8mm away. Is there a limit? So a thick carpet at say 25mm would you go 16mm away? On tapatalk HD
British standards say 2/3 rds of the thickness but I believe I was told on floor skills course that with something like a thick saxony it's the compressed thickness. We still have 95% of fitters putting any carpet thickness with the old gripper as they can be bothered to change it or in fairness are not paid to change it.
