Hi, We have Thermosphere wire under 40mm of screed with floorboards laid over. We turned on heating for first time 4 days ago starting at 18degrees. Today at 23 but still not feeling really any warmth. Is there something wrong?
Good luck with that! So you've had the 150w or 200w matting with wire/or lose wire laid near 60mm deep???
followed the instructions? Needed the original floor level to hallway. Wire had to be minimum screed depth
Not seen that Electric UFH type. But all the wire ones I’ve gone over aren’t good enough to heat a room. Just warm the floor.
Just had a quick read and yes it does state 40 - 100mm, what was the reason for using that actual system? Wouldn't a standard mat system been a better choice? I do so many of these ufh installations but even on the 80mm fresh slab I run the mats at a separate layer of 20mm (thermo board, ufh matting and 10mm of screed)
Well at least it won’t frazzle your floor. But you will never heat a room with this type of system. You can’t really feel much warmth on a floor thats heated to 27 degrees.
Possibly would have been better with just screed and no floorboards, also, I'm not sure if there will be issues with the floorboards when you cover them up, as you will be heating them up and they won't be getting any moisture from the air
