Signed up here a while ago but never posted Been a London based floor layer for 20 years(jeasus) and recently gone self employed was on the cards from 16 Been doing the job a long time but actually have little knowledge on what to charge for things now I'm on my own Hopefully you all can help me Cheers
Well it's price stuff mainly been offered a fairly large job multiple flats in lvt at £10 per m2 But giving the current boom in prices I don't know if that's to low or not
Always your call if you think a price is fair or not. How would it work out as a day rate for you, would you be happy on that? Area comes into it. Middle of nowhere vs central London, etc…
Hotel/evening meal paid for? Diesel? Straightlay? Borders? £3m2 for latex - roughly what size are the flats? As Simon has said, work it out to how much you realistically could get covered without having to kill yourself and compare it with what day rate you would be charging.
My minimum charge is £5m2 for screeding but have put it up to £7m2 for domestic which is mainly what I do.
So £13 all in. Thats a pretty fair rate I would say. But, it does depend on the MC and how many they will get ready ahead of you, and what condition they leave them in. i.e mastic to cut away at the skirts, scraped and clean off dry liners mess etc I would be happy with that rate, but as for working away for that rate, unless digs and the cost of a meal is also included then its a no.
