Hey guys, Have a job coming up tomorrow fitting a herringbone pattern but customer isnt wanting to have skirtings removed or trimmed as it's a new build, nightmare. So wondering if anyones any tips for templating the tiles against the skirting without having to cut put hundreds of individual pieces of cedar paper. Any help is much appreciated, cheers.
Just scribe it and paper template the tricky ones. It doesn’t take that long Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You could do it the way some of my ex fitters do it, guess work and silicone or heat gun and hook blade, guess why they are ex fitters
Dont floorskills do a template for herringbone? Dont quote me on it. Im sure the other lads will tell you. Never used one but just a thought.
Like this The dimensions are easily worked out from the pic This scribes parallel (not diagonally like something similar looking )
Try to get the customer to have a 2 tile border or 1.75 ish one, I think with a bordor Herringbone is faster to fit rather than direct fit to skirting but in such case just scribe each tile, takes time. I assume whole ground floor so ping a line from outside wall and carry throughout floor. Theres no quick way to it just right way first time :O)
