Hi all, I'm thinking of changing to Mapei Renovation screed, can you tell me if it's any good and exactly where and when you use it? What other flexible products are any good? Cheers all.

I've used it quite a lot and have had no issues with it. It is a bit dusty compared to others, that would be my only complaint. I tend to use F.Ball 700 more than anything when I need a fibre and again 100% happy with it and less dust!

Thanks for that, what's the minimum thickness you'd use it at, and can it go on any old timber i.e not mechanically fixed plywood/chipboard. Their product data sheet is a bit ambigious.

Not had any issues with dust myself. For the money it's excellent.

Agree with pf, usually I just go over ply. I did a couple of chipboard floors but I roughed them up a bit first to try and lose that waxy finish.

I find renovation a bit hitty missy Its OK for a budget flexy but does usually need a quick buff to get rid of the dusty top. 700 or AF20 are far superior but twice the price
I'd never flexy straight over chipboard it's just not worth the so ply every time

    flexy gear
    Try Uzin's NC175
    or the cheaper version
    NC148
    Fantastic gear tbh
Beats the tail off 700 by a LONG way

    Cheaper than 700?
    Yes mate it is.
Not by much tho to be fair, but a much better product to work with and the finish is far far superior

Used 700 the other week and found it amazing.
I tend to use level flex as it's cheap but got a good deal on the 700 ;-)

Amazing flow and the finish was like glass.

I used some Ultra Flexi this week. Bottle & bag, looks just like 700, but without the stink.
    Good flow, and good value.

Also used some of there Bond. Its just like na, very nice to use, and also a lot cheaper.
