Hi! We had Karndean laid on Friday. We were really happy with the result but noticed after about a day that some of the planks started to bow and there is a hollow sound when you tap in it. We have a few major concerns with how the installation was done and I was wondering if anyone could let me know what remedial work should be done to fix it. Firstly the latex was left to dry for less than 24 hours. Whilst it was drying out underfloor heating suddenly came on (for likely less than 15mins). We have central heating pipes which run under the floor- does this mean we need epoxy adhesive? any help would be really appreciated as we are now left with flooring we have paid a load of money for that is not going to last.
Do you have any suggestions on how we can fix the issues we are having? Or does it need to be redone entirely?
I know it was a water based one that’s all I know, we were told they could not be removed due to potential asbestos in them.
I personally wouldnt use a water based screed over marley tiles and the tiles can be removed if done properly Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk
By sounds of it, it all needs coming up and start again from scratch. Sounds like the screed has blown, no fix for that other than the above
We have a concrete subfloor and pipe UFH in the extension as well as central heating pipes which run under the concrete in the section of the house with radiators
