    Hello all,

Firstly, thank you to everyone - I've been able to fight my corner a lot better with all the knowledge gained from this forum!

The question I have is regarding subfloor preparation for Karndean Glue Down flooring. We are having to have our entire floor replaced after the previous installation was completed by our insurance approved builders. This floor showed every single dip, bump and nail underneath as they had not feathered the joints (the work to lay the flooring in all 3 rooms and hallway was completed in 8 hours!)

The builders they have now instructed have reused the existing plyboard which has had been used twice previously for flooring - once for a click floor, and once for the now removed glue down Karndean. I know the plyboard is rotting in places, as water has got in through the gaps of the previously poorly laid flooring. The builders have not provided any photos of the subfloor prior to putting a coating on top of the floor, but are saying that what they have done is correct.

I believe that putting the flooring on top of the already rotting and potentially damp plyboard will cause me more issues down the line. Could I please have some advice from people on here, and opinions on whether I should continue to fight this with the insurance company to have the ply replaced, or just accept this?

    Many thanks!
