Hi everyone , i am in need of some expert opinion on a situation i have regarding a laminate i have purchased . Like any diy er i searched the internet for my product and settled on a Krono Swiss 12mm arosa oak laminate based on its looks and by what appeared to be a quality product. I placed my order and my delivery arrived . while i was at work and when i got home i found the product that had been delivered was a Chene (BMK Flooring ) laminate and not the Krono swiss i ordered ,even though the enclosed paperwork listed "Krono Swiss arosa oak " V groove AC5 Laminate. To make matters worse after several attempts my providers are not replying to email or phone enquiries. . If it turns out the Chene is of reasonable quality i have no problem using it but i would be very dissapointed if the floor doesnt last the test of time ,,,,,,,any advise very gratefully recieved..
Chene Bmk was a wholesaler. They probably rebranded the krono laminate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes looks the same pattern/colour but as i had already had a sample of the Kronoswiss the click system seems different , the Kronoswiss had a plastic sealing insert in one joint the Chene does not.
Two different products, BMK don’t deal with Krornoswiss and the Chenè isn’t as good I know there’s a huge stock problem at the minute for most laminates and it seems they just sent what they could get hold of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks for the replies so far, we seem to have established that i have been provided with a lower standard product than what i ordered, the question is where do i go from here ,? I have not up to now named the suppliers as i wanted to give them a chance to clarify my position but as they are not taking calls and not relying to emails that is proving difficult. I am at the moment thinking "Trading Standards" or similar but i really dont want to open that can of worms up . If naming the suppliers will give some sort of indication of the calibre of outfit i am dealing with i will name them but for now i will press on trying to contact them. Once again thanks for the replies , if anyone else can help it would be appreciated.
I have been reliably informed that BMK Chen laminate, or at least some of it, is Kronoswiss. Where it is Kronoswiss BMK don't even change the colour names or codes. Check the codes on the boxes and the colour names and cross check with Kronoswiss before you talk to the supplier(if they answer your calls). That is if you can get them to respond. I do know that there is a significant shortage of laminate flooring as there are material supply issues that are stopping production. That said, it is never a good idea to send a "different" product to a customer without any consultation, even if the difference is only the packaging as it can only end up like this! If turns out not to be a Kronoswiss product (codes don't match, colour name different) and you really don't want what they sent you I would suggest that you get them to collect it rather than you return it, and if all else fails with contacting them to come to some sort of agreement you can ask your card company to perform a chargeback, that should prompt a response. Naming them isn't unfair either. They shouldn't have done this to you without consulting you, even if the product is exactly the same Their refusal to respond to you isn't good either.
Gents , an update on my situation............ First of all i have had an email from the suppliers confirming the product is in fact Kronoswiss remarketed under the Chene brand. I have asked him to provide as much evidence as possible eg code numbers and i have asked him his position within the company for future reference. Secondly , following Angry Andys advice i have researched code /article numbers and this information is promising. I found a product code for Swiss Solid Chrome Arosa Oak of D3030 , the product code on the Chene supplied to me is D3030 CP , the CP i believe is the structure code., it even says made in Switzerland on my labels . So all in all it seems i have at worst been mislead but have in fact got the product i wanted , hopefully. Thanks to all who contributed /advised
