I'm thinking about buying a guillotine to cut laminates, anyone know where the best place to buy 1 and which 1 to buy as there's quite a few?

If you do a lot of the wider boards, it might be worth investing in the 13inch magnum shear, they cost a lot more and weigh a lot more, but they are very heavy duty (will even cut through 18mm solid oak) and you can use it for stuff like quickstep largo and majestic, which won't fit in the 9inch

I'm not sure wat model mate, looking for a heavy duty 1 to cut laminates and engineered boards, I just seen them online and was wondering if they were any good. I'm using a jigsaw atm and sick of cleaning up after me, the dusts a nightmare!

I have the lp650 guillotine but it's not for laminate/wood though. It's the same as the romus 650 guillotine.

The magnum shear would be your ideal one

Daz would you use the guillotine every time your fitting floors? Would it be worth investing in 1 of these? Are they as good as there made out to be?

Yes mate. Every laminate I use it. Great tool for the price. So quick and clean.

that was a really old pic Dan. The dust extraction was rubbish on the jigsaw

Might have to get one of them. I bought a romus guilly for laminate 15 years ago and still use it all the time for 8mm laminate. Great way to cut and fit. Jigsaw dust is a killer and chopsaw blades don’t last long on laminates

Ok but not great amd don’t last long. I’ve found the best thing is a little mitre box. Gemini make one that’s perfect
