What do you use to sand the floors flat, smooth or level then, guess concrete screed needs some sort of grinding machine but assume levelling compounds are easier to dress back, only got a carbide stone with handle, takes ages to do much on any levelling product and doesn’t touch concrete. Did help a bit identifying lumps and bumps to be feathered after I repaired with a46 in few places but I’m guessing you use a rotary machine with discs or something for best results?

In all honestly its easier to get a floor fitter to do. He should have a floor sander. If going OTT he could briefly sand first, vacuum, feather floor then latex 1200, sand, vacuum then possibly feather again then fit.

I hear 888 feather is better than Ardex but cant confirm this maybe someone else will vouch for it

ive recently started using a brown f.ball rapid drying feather edge. its absolutely brilliant stuff, lovely finish and goes off in 30 minutes with ease.

havent tried the Uzin one, mainly because the suppliers here takes an age to get served, so i dont fancy queuing up for 30 minutes to get a back of feather finish

Personally I can't stand the F Balls feather, for me it goes way to fast and no good for medium to large areas plus I've noticed it dries different to Ardex feather and nearly always requires a sand. The F Balls rapid is alot better than Ardex rapid however, grabs better, faster drying time and stronger.

Tried most of them but we always go back to ardex feather & a45 & a46

I agree about the ardex feather but I’m not fussed about the repair mortars. I find they’re all much of a likeness. If needs be, I mix it with hot water and it sets ‘rapid’
