I'm a bit old fashioned and was mainly home fits including vinyl. Did small ammounts pf full stick down industrial jobs .I'm working full time in a well paid job but it's not something I enjoy. It's difficult to take a jump into fitting with no guarantee of work. I'd be happy to work alongside a fitter to get back into the industry
Ryan if you fit carpet, there's load of new build carpet fitting work about, try CD carpets in Rotherham they are always advertising
