    Hello forum

I’m looking for advice so our builder doesn’t try and pull the wool over our eyes please

We are in a new build with amtico on the ground floor and bathrooms

the floor has a lot of low spots which with a straight edge look 3 to 4 mm deep and are very visible. I can also see the trowel marks in the base. As well as this they have used mastic under the skirting and the antic tiles are separating.

Questions are: are these holes within spec? They are talking about SR2 and 3

Is it ok for there to be mastic on the skirting?

what is the best way forward : we have all our furniture in the house now

    any advice gratefully accepted

    thanks

So did your builder lay the amtico or did he get a flooring guy in?

It shouldn't be how you've explained and sounds like they've made a bodge of it.
If it was screeded properly and feathered where required then you wouldn't have any of the issues.

As for the mastic, you don't need to use it but some customers request it. Some fitters use it a a mask to cover their poor cutting in.

    Post some pictures

It sounds like the work wasn't done properly. If the screed had been applied correctly and feathered as needed, you wouldn't be experiencing any of these problems.
