So, Hi. I have a plywood floor which is currently covered by 3mm laminate planks and 5mm underlay. Then the skirting comes down to meet it. My wife would like luxury click flooring installed, it is 3mm thick and the recommended underlay for LVC is 1mm. There will be a 4 to 5 mm difference between what i have now and the new floor, so what do i do about the 5mm gap under the skirting boards? where they used to come down to meet the old floor? thanks.
Thanks, so something like non structural standard 3mm plywood or is there something floor specific? Is it ok to have a layer of wood as the floor, then plywood directly on top, then underlay and then LVC? Should i be aware of anything here? e.g. damp or levelling etc
One last question, if i wanted instead to not use luxury vinyl click but instead use LV tiles, then where would the underlay go in this situation? Ply, underlay, ply, LVT? Or ply, ply LVT? Or ply, ply underlay LVT? Thanks
