    Matt,

Do Floor Skills do an LVT course aimed at existing floor fitters?

I've been to F Ball twice in the last year and a couple brand LVT courses and don't need to know about moisture testing and sub floor prepping anymore.*

The trouble with these courses in my opinion is that you only get one day at the end actually hands on with LVT. Of course I understand the importance of prep work but you don't really get enough LVT training.

What would be ideal, for me anyway, is a 1 or 2 day course where you get to learn new tricks and tips with installation methods and designs with the actual product?

I know of that one Daz, but like I said it also consists of 2 days of things I've already had drummed into me. Ideally, I'd like to do a course that just covers the last day of that.

we can do what ever you like.

We can do a bespoke one on one course (we cover what ever you want to cover while your with us)
We can do a bespoke course for a set number of people . This course is popular with companys with a few employess as it works out cheaper and can be centered around what your fitters install. (we will pre plan this course and will require minimum of 4 people)

    or

We can simply drop the first day of subfloor prep. So on a 3 day course for example you can attend for the 2nd and 3rd day and miss subfloor prep. However we dont like doing this unless you have attended a previous course with us. The reason for this is we may refer to products used on the subfloor prep day and if you have not previously attended a subfloor prep day with us you may not understand what we are talking about. Its not fair on others that are on the course and attended the subfloor prep and we are now explaining to yourself what was covered the day before.

Like i say if you have attended a previous course then no problem dropping the first day. But we have a strict rule that if you are to ask questions that was covered the previous day (and you never attended) then we wont be able to answer tho's questions for you.

Does that make sense / sound fair?

    Thanks Matt,

I like your first suggestion about a bespoke course, however, I know this would probably be quite expensive if it's one on one understandably.

Maybe, you could suggest a one day 'lvt refresher' that incorparates designs, tips, tricks and Q&A's or summit like that if you know
what I mean?? and see how many people are interested?????*

we wont cover it all in 1 day. The advanced course is 2 days of fitting.

We can cover it all on a one on one course in a day but to be fair the ones i have done in the past you really are pushed for time and the course ran untill around 7pm on the night !

On my courses you fit a real room sized area with curves etc. But we also cover 'karndean , Amtico ' fitting methods on top along with different types of lvt etc. We dont just do a 'one way' method. We try and cover different methods so you can find the method that suits you best.

HOWEVER, we can do a 1 day course where you watch me install only. Im not over keen on this type of course as watching something and not trying tho's methods while your with us we cant see where you may have problems.

if any of you want to set up a bespoke course and use the forum to advertise it im happy with that.

Maybe promote the course to colleagues? or at local flooring out let? Organizers that fill more than 6 places on bespoke courses will be offered their place FREE of charge.

One rule tho, any monies must be payed direct to FloorSkills. Do not collect payments in person.

i would say 2 days minimum mate.

If you want to set up a training day at the discount rates then put something together and pm me teh details and i will go through it for you.

Start a new thread and i will 'sticky' it for you. but you are in control of that thread and sorting out who is coming on it ! I will give you mod control to your thread so you can edit and delete any posts.

Dont bother adding yourself here as you need a new thread for the course you are putting together!

You may want to put up some ideas first and see what feedback you get ?

Can you made up a flyer Matt? I will put it in my local flooring places. They don't mind. Not everyone is on net. As what happened with graham. He walked in Jedens and said what's this when he seen the flyer.

Im not arranging this mate, my courses are on the website. If someone wants to set up a bespoke course and arrange in there own time im happy for it to be advertised on here. There is a major discount on offer. I dont have the time to sort / mess around with it so the option is there for someone else to arrange hence i have listed rock bottom prices on for if someone else wants to arrange and get a free place on top.

At the prices listed for it to make it worth me running the course someone else need to set up.

I have already spent over 30 mins already doing some maths and i would say another 4 hours yet messing around. Then another day sorting materials etc this course in theory will owe me two days work before we open the center (the bits people dont see) LOL

Hence im leaving it open for someone else to have a go at arranging and setting up.
