Hi, first post so be gentle !
I am a long time wood / laminate fitter and have been asked to supply and fit flooring in a friends nightclub , including a bar area and dance floor.
Hving spoken to a few reps I have settled on using polyflor Kudos .
The polyflor rep assures me it is up to the job, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts ie floor prep over existing ceramic tiles, and best glue to use - pressure sensitive ? manufacturer ?
I was also wondering if the stopgap 131 is advisable as a primer before the screed .
Before anybody has a fit I WONT be fitting this myself , I have a trusted and qualified Amtico fitter doing the job!

    Thanks in advance.

well a few users along with myself have just returned from a MAPEI training day on there subfloor products. So i guess we will recommend these to you as i think everyone was impressed with there products and demos.

To start you need to clean the ceramics!

Next prime with either 'Eco Prim t' or ' Mapeprim SP' second choice being the best for ceramics.

    Componds...

go for 'Latexplan' or 'Latexplan Trade' . The trade being a slower drying compound so if you need the compound to dry and be upto comercial strength fast then use 'Latexplan'

If you have any holes or grount lines to fill then use 'Planipatch' mixed with 'latex plus'

    Adhesive-

Either ultrabond 'eco 380' or 'eco Vs90'

So do the rest of you agree? did i do good?

Thanks lads, much appreciated - are there any dedicated cleaning fluids for the ceramics and would this have to be done with an electrical stand up jobby or would a mop and bucket suffice?
I only ask as the tool hire situation where I live is poor to say the least!
As for the LVT have any of you had much experience with the Polyflor Kudos in a commercial setting?
I was going to use the F46 that you have recommended in some of your other posts Matt, is the Mapei better still ?
And one last thing Matt, you havepreviously stated that you lay your lvt's cold to avoid shrinkage, would you recommend that over 50m2 on a dance floor ?
Sorry for all the questions, someone once suggested I should train for the FBI !

F46 v mapie? ummm to be honest i dont know as i have not used the mapie adhesive yet! Howver from what i have seen it looks very good. Better??? i dont know. But on comercial i think that maybe mapie would be a better adhesive.

As for cleaning the tiles, you can use anything as long as it removes all the crap and leaves a clean surface without oils etc. Your bond to the tiles is only as good as what your bonding too! I dont think you need to get electric machines in tho.

As for laying cold, on sheet vinyl i would try and lay at room temp. I say lay planks/tile LVT cold but sheet is a bit different, if sheet shrinks then the silicon around the edges would cover the gap still. Not that large sheet areas tend to move on adhesive.

Thanks Matt , for the record I am using polyflor kudos lvt so I will probably go with laying cold as I wouldnt like to predict the temp change in a nightclub and as you stated it is easier to lift and trim than lift and completely relay !

    Thanks again.
