Hi to all , Nick here from kent. Been around the game for 25 years , Mainly domestic /carpets and amtico. Shocked at these contract site work outfits and what they want to pay ! Allways done a bit of contact(cove up etc) Have we gone back to the 90s?
Hi Nick, not all the contract guys are bad. You just need to shop around, and find one who pays decent rates, and who appreciate a decent fitter
Allways done a bit of contract over the years mate , but was never as bad as what i see last week. Was totally miffed at site conditions and The rates lol £1.50 m2 prime latex on bathrooms and kitchens Total area of both 8m2 haha
Is it new build ? Site conditions can be shit, that`s for sure, but if a decent firm behind you, that can be rectified. I worked for a firm a while ago, and £1.50 was there rate for latex. I argued a bit and got an extra 50p for primer, and another 50p if the areas needed scraping up (which they always do). All there rates were low, but we worked out an overall rate, that worked in the end. If you have 10 plots ready, it can work, but site conditions need to be right.
