Myths and Misconceptions

    So for fun I thought I’d try and compile a list of as many myths and misconceptions I can find in the Flooring world. Share any you have.
    My favourite two:

    Myth: You need to let the carpet settle before vacuuming.

    Misconception: The builder said the underlay would cover that gap in the floorboards/hide the gap under the skirting board.

    My favourite is the laminate/wood flooring has a underlay that takes out any unevenness in the subfloor.

    Another one, 20 year old floor covering hasn’t suffered from moisture so surely my new one will be fine without a dpm or at the very least a moisture test
