Hi, I wanted to put sheet vinyl down in my hallway all the way to kitchen. The problem is that the hallway is split level, there are 3 steps to go down on the way to the kitchen. What do I do? Do I stop the vinyl just before the top step and then start again at the bottom? How? Would I need some sort of metal bar? Do I cover the steps in vinyl? (isn't that a slip hazzard?) Any advice, other than carpetting instead, would be much appreciated as I am going round in circles! Thanks.
Fit the vinyl all the way through and have some fancy nosings (ste It's not a slip hazard, only if you throw a load of water down the steps and immediately walk down them....then that's a hazard
I have seen some run straight down the steps like carpet, held on with carpet tacks. Have a look at stairrods uk website for some nosing ideas
Yep stairrods uk have some good options. I like the lips nosings to finish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We seem to have done a lot of them over the last couple of years, for some reason, it's suddenly got popular
Thank you all for the tips. I would have loved to put down victorian style tiles etc but limited budget. It is for a rental, so I thought vinyl could (a) look nice in the moroccan or portuguese tile design pattern and (b) be easily cleaned after tenants bring in their bikes, boots etc. The other option is to sand down or paint floorboards. Just not carpet as that is not as appealing. Will take a look at stairrods. Ta.
