Hi, I am going to get Pergo waterproof laminate installed in my kitchen and hall soon. It has an attached underlayment , but I plan on putting an extra underlayment of Pergo Gold under it. After reading a lot about it, I wonder if the Pergo Gold underlayment is that much better than the FloorLot GoldMax?
I have read enough to know that I'm planning on using the attached tape on the edges, but covering them with Duct tape so it won't sound scrunchy.
Any input on that for me?
About the baseboard; it should be probably at least 2 1/4"high, yes? And since there is supposed to be a 3/8' gap around the edges of the room, should there also be that same gap on my range island also? Thanks for any knowledge on this.

Could you advise on baseboard installation? The baseboard should probably be at least 2 1/4 inches high, correct? Additionally, since there should be a 3/8-inch gap around the edges of the room, should I also leave the same gap around my range island? Thank you for your expertise on this matter.
