    Evening lads ,

I am going to be plying over standard 80s-90s floorboards (6inch) . Installing on the herringbone pattern

Was wondering if anyone has went down the 9mm ply route then top of with a 6mm ply for a smoother finish.

Flatter the better for an herringbone install .

Do you really need to double up?
If the floorboards are in decent state I'd just go with the 9mm.
12mm sheets if you really want to

    Evening rugmunching ,

There is a few dips and run from center of lounge to toilet area.

My thinking was use the 9mm to take out any sudden dips or bumps then sweeten off the whole area with the usual 6mm ply

Id opt for a 6mm or 9mm ply and fibre screed then, least you can get a good float over it

The ply won’t take dips out.6mm ply and fibre screed will sort it.
