    Hi,

Some idiot has glued the solid floor down to the wooden sub floor board sub floor. The result is that the solid floor wont come up at all. What are my options?
I eventually want to screed the floor, as its uneven and eventually install Karndean.

I guess i cant screed over the timber floor due to it needing to breathe eh?
What are my options, any help appreciated.

Taking it up is really really hard. its not shifting.

    New floor boards?

What room is it? Bedroom, lounge....kitchen?

    Could use a loose lay

Depending on how big the area is, you could hammer and chisel most of the top layer off, then hire a belt sander for a day, with something like a 24 or 16grit paper to take the remainder off

So ply over it then screed it? does the ply not need to breathe too?

If it’s engineered stuck down and dry it would be fine. If there’s any damp under the floor it will eventually rot if you cover it with vinyl

Or get a plunge saw and set it to the depth of the engineered wood. Make cuts across the whole floor. Small the better. Then a breaker and chisel to remove it. The key is cutting into small enough sections to lift
