I know that the polyurethane dpm's dry quicker than the epoxy ones but are they as good? Is there any reason to keep using the epoxy type (other than it gives a nice shiny surface for the customer to do their hair in).
what manufactures ? The ones i know of you use the same time as fixing the floor as a adhesive. These will have limited use. But i have never really messed around with polyurethane dpms. I believe that most have some nasty solvents in that are banned from being sold to the public. Us being trade can buy it still but we become responsible for its usage. Not saying all are like this as i dont know, like i say never really got involved with the stuff.
Hi Matt, the rapid drying DPM's are mostly polyurethane (1K Turbo, Uzin 414). I'm just curious as to which type is more efficient, I think the epoxy type give a better barrier but not sure.
The polyurethane dpm i was thinking of SIKA etc. Im confusing myself i think. Not got any in front of me to check as working from home at moment. If comparing 1K turbo to epoxy then i would defo say 1k. (and im not saying that as a fan of Mapei stuff as Mapei do epoxy's and at that they do pure epoxy so in my eyes i would but them top on epoxy) Simply as it dries fast and the most important bit for me is that it actually sinks into the subfloor rather than bonding to teh surface. Not saying that all epoxy's out there wont dont the same as there is pure epoxy dpm's out there that will. But through my own personal testing i find 1k to be the better dpm providing used correctly.
