    Dear all,

I am a general builder currently renovating my own house. I'm pretty savvy but I'm in need of advice on how to finish a floor.

The board and all wood for that matter have been shot blasted as they were caked in paint. They've been treated and I've started sanding them with a palm sander which is not man enough. I'm going to rent a belt sander tomorrow to save time. I've tested the wax I have on a small area and am not happy, It dries clear.

I'm after a satin / shiny finish with a colour darker than pine. When the wax is on it looks great but then dries and goes completely clear, not what I want.

From research I'm steering towards OSMO clear satin polyx-oil. Anyone used this? I've used other OSMO finished on worktops and it seemed to be more of a varnish that sets than a wax or oil.

Any advice on how to achieve the below is much appreciated.
