New LVT flooring required. My current kitchen flooring is porcelain tiles and they have all cracked and grout has come out (see photo) I think because of the movement in the floor. We need a little flex in our new flooring. I'd like a wear of 0.5+ and price pm under £30!sq m, so excludes Amitco and Karndean. I'm looking for a hardwearing product, easy to lay which will have domestic high traffic in a 'stone tile' effect look. Please give me your recommendations of tried and test LVTs!! Thank You. Also I'm a newbie here.
No we intend to lift the porcelain tiles and then see what the state of adhesive is. May use levelling compound if not all broken up.
I would temper your expectations. £30 a m2 is an entry level price so a .55m wear layer is going to be harder to achieve. You will undoubtedly need subfloor prep too once you uplift your tiles. I would also always recommend having your floor professionally laid. Any retailer will tell you plenty of horror stories that they have had to fix, and once you bond LVT to a floor it's almost always a full replacement if messed up
If there’s a lot of movement I’m guessing your subfloor is wooden? You’ll need a flooring grade plywood put down on the subfloor once all that has been taken up.
