I have replaced some MDF door thresholds with ply wood and I am about to lay Amtico tiles on to the ply wood.

Does the orientation of the tiles make any difference (e.g. wear, ease of fitting etc) or is the orientation purely cosmetic ?

    i.e.

There is existing Amtico in the hall way at front door threshold, for the tiles to align with the existing Amtico they would need to be vertical.

    Vertical

    Diagonal

    Vertical

For reference I have already made a previous post in Subfloor Preparation - subject "Can I lay Amtico directly onto 18mm ply or do I need to prep the ply"

Vertical opposite way to the floor looks best Put a strip across the vertical to then a nice 90° angle edge
