Hi. I have ceramic tile in my kitchen which had started to crack. I'm looking to take up the tile and replace it with vinyl sheet flooring. I do have infloor heating that was installed under the tile. My question is, when take up the tiles, what would be the best option as a subfloor for vinyl sheet flooring? Will the existing floor under the tile be smooth enough for something like a felt cushion underlayment? I'm looking to sell my home this summer so would like to keep the replacement as simple as possible. TIA

Skim it with a levelling compound first and fill the tile in. Then glue down the cushion vinyl

That an idea. Is it a bad idea to put vinyl under cabinets? My tile goes under the cabinets and island, should I trim around them?

Sheet vinyl round a island is not something ive ever had to do thankfully! You’ll need to split it down and rejoin it. But you only need to trim up to everything if its already in place

Your going to have to use a lot of levelling compound to get back up to the old tile height.
