woven mate it's supposedly fully reversable so doesn't have a backing so to speak.

So if it dont have a backing as such (woven / flat weave then) , well how come microplast gripper?

To me it looks the same as any other flat weave that will normally have a foam applied to the back of it? So i will presume the backing is left open so you are looking at a 'flat weave' the same as seagrass etc without the foam applied?

Anyone got any pics of backing?

Also how do they say you should join it? in pics they have diagonal joins? any info on what method they recommend?

hand stitched, well that's how they do it. Also there's no backing unlike seagrass etc... just the same as a flatweave rug mate, they also recommend short pin gripper if you can't get microplast.

this is why we don't sell many
    Example 1*
For one flight of straight stairs with 13 steps (approx.7m).
Flatweave runner without stair rods £770.00
Wilton runner without stair rods £840.00
Flatweave runner with 13 plain iron stair rods £1147.00
Wilton runner with 13 plain iron stair rods £1217.00

for A RUN of stairs, plus u/lay, Gripper Fitting etc... what an extra £50-£70 u/lay, £13 gripper, I'd want £60 to fit it plus £3 per step for fitting rods.
    Not cheap.

one thing does make me giggle, they recommend either a wool felt or crumb rubber u/lay WHICH IS THE SAME HEIGHT AS THE GRIPPER, I don't know about you lot but 8mm sits flush with gripper, i'm yet to see an 8mm felt or crumb.

I use combination underlay, its what Roger Oates specify.i also sew all my own mitres too.on the winders you use sigaway tape on the tread and spray with water, this gives you time to work with the carpet so all the stripes match up.There is no backing it is the same both sides

so going back to microplast gripper, why do they say use it?

with short pin gripper they say knock down pins also dont they?

It looks very American. I would imagine gripper pins would shred it! It's not carpet is it, it's fabric

If you use short pin when you flattern them you can see the pins, not a good look, and microplast really holds so much better,I always have a box on the van cause I do a lot of Vorwerk carpets too,and it fits much better with that too

so the microplast grips the back of it then? that is what i was trying to work out.

So grips similar to a felt back carpet then?

the only thing with combifelt is it's 12mm thick and your gripper is 8mm to base of pins or to microplast, i find that the carpet doesn't sit quite right on u/lay over 8mm thick
