Hi everyone. I recently had rustic grade wood flooring installed and am slightly regretting my choice because of one particular section where I think the variation between the floorboards is too stark. Please see pics and advise me if you think the same? How easy is it to remove that particular board and the ones around it - to give a more seamless look?
Is that near the wall in your bedroom ? You would be best leaving it the way it is mate. If you want to change it do you know who it’s been fitted? All glued Down or glued on the Tongue & grove ?
Yep, right next to the wall. I’m not sure I’m afraid, but I can see that there’s a section of it that isn’t fully flat. Does that mean it’s just been glued down on tongue and groove? And what does that mean for how easy it is to replace?
It’s a natural wood product I fail to see a problem with the colouration, if it’s glued down it’ll be a pig to get up and I would leave it as is, if it’s been floated it needs all ripping up, boarding out and gluing direct to the subfloor or you will have major problems with it and you can change the plank then. I don’t think you will notice it after a few weeks. Floors change colour over time too. It’s a personal choice on colour. Not the worse I’ve seen but I’ve been asked to change less obvious boards lol
Rustic grade wood flooring can be unpredictable with its variations, and while that’s part of its charm, it can sometimes be overwhelming. If that section is bothering you, it’s definitely possible to replace those boards. I’ve done it myself, and while it’s not the easiest task, it’s manageable if you take your time.
