Is there a nice type of wood for floors that is scratch-resistant, my wife and I want to replace the floors and plan to adopt a dog.
There is a great hardwood flooring contractors in our area and they have great wood flooring to choose from and they are all said to be hard, like Brazilian Walnut, Hard Maple or Bamboo, what will be the best?

No, all wood flooring will mark and scratch and they require regular maintenance. A quality laminate floor or LVT will have higher scratch resistance and are easier and cheaper to maintain.

As above, but if you don't use the area it will stay like new. Sarcasm aside, whatever you buy it will need maintenance at least twice a year with dog/dogs to keep it looking pretty.
