    What are you guys using.
We have a pin leveller with 5 pins. I don’t like the rake.
any one got the iTools pin leveller with 2 pins ?

I got a Midwest rake/gauge from Floorskills open day. I love it especially for latex. Don’t even need a spiked roller with it as long as you put down a decent depth coat

Its just what ive always done.
I did try a rake once, didnt get on very well with it.
I tend to deal with lots of problematic floors, so we normally use latex rather than rather than water mix, and always budget screeds, so maybe not enough flow.
Can still get a good chunk down with the lads mixing and running buckets etc

Latex goes down much better with a rake I can actually get NA as close to perfect as possible with a stand up rake You definitely need to get to grips with it Save lots of time and feather

I cannot use latex without a rake unless I’m dumping loads on the floor and not trowelling it at all. But Ardex and Mapie Na with a rake spot on. Don’t even spike it. Everyone different tho. One of the blokes I use to work with always done it with a trowel. 1 thin coat for standard stuff, 2 coats for lvt or sheet vinyl and use to get a decent finish

Maybe I need to have another crack at it.
Did a load of classrooms this week with Uzin 196, probably would have been good for that.
No feather needed even with a trowel :)

Bet you was just constantly tipping the buckets!
    Did your mixers keep up?

I'd be interested in one of these Midwest rakes aswell.

Wasn`t too bad for mixing. Was doing 3x bag mixes with a lad on the mixer. I had more bags on the other side as well.

I had an old screed rake that I tried years ago, so did my best to spread it with that, so I could keep the depth up.

Ive got to coat it again anyway.
