Used it today as got a few free bags off my supplier. Its 20kg bag & bottle, covers 5m2 @ 3mm thickness First thoughts were the bottle top was a pain to open as it had a plastic ring under it which you have to pull off, it snaped on one of them so had to cut it with my knife. Then the smell of the latex hit me. very strong smell. But smell went once mixed an no smell from the screed when laid. It's is a thin screed and flowed really well, not far off a water mix. It looks very flat when I finished, I troweled & spiked it. Will see what the finish is like thursday. I used 3 units on about 12m2 but did put it on about 5mm in places an floor was dropping in parts. Not sure on the cost but was happy with it.
was just about to post a price an realised it wasnt in the trade section, my supplier has got it in stock an its quite a bit cheaper than latex plan trade, but that depends on what price you get that for! ultimate 2 was the worst for the latex smell, they brought out low odour latex HA my arse low odour still stinks.
ok, so we happy it flows 'o.k' So now the important stuff. Whats its strength? is is sutible for LVT / wood etc or simply only to be used under loose lay vinyl etc. And the next big question that is getting asked more and more. Health + Safety , what areas can it be used in with the public around? Does a area need top be cornered off? does it meet the new EC-1 crap that all compounds/glues etc will all need to meet very soon?
I wont be using it for LVTs Matt, only use cheaper screed on my builders work. Not really bothered about anything but the price for that type of work
No worries what you are using it for mate. But if we are going to recommend it on the forum we need to know the ins and outs of what the product can do and its specs. Dont want people coming back to me saying that 'Daz' said its good so we used it but the floor failed etc.... Try and find out the specs so we can show the specs along with the fact that it 'flows'
There not on laybonds website? Weird. Thats just my review of it mate. I thought it was good but not telling people to buy it. As always I think use the stuff and see what I think, if I like it and it has good spec & price i'll keep using it.
Ye i looked also. Weird lol I have no issues with you recommending a product but we need facts to back it up. If it is a good product then i will try it myself and i will recommend it. People see me recommending Mapei products on here. Well i recommend them as they are what i believe the best products at the moment (you all know that i test the products along with the use of test labs) . That is until someone else comes up with better. you may all notice that Mapei are not a trader on here nor do they have a banner add on here so i assure you im NOT bias towards there products. In fact if you look through my previous posts you will see that i was Uzin products and then Fball and now Mapei being my favourite. You may find that in 6 months time that we will be back at FBALL etc if they step up there game just like the others have. in fact, just trying out some new glue that seems very good. No its not Mapei, Fball etc but someone else. Its a secret so dont bother Pm'ing me LOL. ANYWAY, love the feedback tho Daz. We all want the best products at the end of the day. Dig out them specs for us please to see if this product can compete with the other products at the moment :thumbs
