    Hello,
I am new to the forum. I have a project that I plan on starting this summer. I have a summer home in the process of being remodeled and we plan on installing approx. 1000 sf of engineered hardwood flooring on the main level.
The subfloor under the majority of the install is a mixture of Plywood and OSB, ( some newer construction blended to existing structure ). This portion of the subfloor is very solid with no deflection. An adjacent section of flooring will be installed on an enclosed porch, the subfloor is thinner plywood, so a little deflection, but a low traffic area. Most of this porch is above a basement.
The house is heated year-round, but thermostat is set at 50 deg in winter when not occupied.
Here are some questions I have:

Should I be gluing / stapling / ( or both ) ? (Would like to use a wider plank floor due to large space).

    Should I use any underlayment?

There is a very long run down the center of the house, I was planning on starting in the center and using a 'slip tongue'. Is that a good / bad idea?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
