Doing a job in an old people's home and its got 15mm soundproof underlay throughout. I was going to replace with cheap and cheerful 8mm and a cheap twist as they are selling. Later found out its a listed building and its got to havethis underlay or equivalent for (building regs e i think). Painter has cut 6 inches around the edge so i either need to fill it back in or put down new. Its a cheap twist going ontop of it though. Anybody know of a 8/9mm soundproofing underlay thats o.k for building regs and is not ridiculously priced??
Yeah ive seen it for 50 sqm for a 1m x 1m panel. Anyone know of a building regs one on a roll 8/9mm. The felt/ rubber underlay is but still abit thick.
Its probably Part P it needs to comply with. Its also likely that the product had to be fitted, then tested in situ, to confirm a pass. Using anything else is a risk, as it may not comply.... I have used that stuff years ago, and it was expensive then. I might have some 10mm crumb rubber we use for sound reduction, or you could get some from TVS or Carpet & flooring will get you CMS products. It still may not comply though
Cheers. It said on the building regs page its for sound reduction and the rubber and felt complies with it. Its going to take about 20 sheets of the stuff thats down just to fill in the edges, so there's £1000. Think its going to be better off ripping up and putting the roll stuff down. Nightmare because all of the stuff in the picture is fully stuck
