    Hi,

Got some guys helping with my flooring but keeping an eye on what they're using and how they're doing it because best informed I reckon. I'm a bit anal about the details and really don't want to have to revisit any of it..
They're ok with my input and to go with my preferences.

They were going to use 9mm marine ply from Travis as the ply over the 22mm chipboard but I had a nosey around the forums and flooring grade seems like a must, although quality seems to change over the years.

SP101 - sounds like it's a bit pot luck on quality now.

FG1 - sounds like the most expensive, but most reliable?

Paraply SC117 - seems like a better cost option but is it ok? Haven't seen many comments on it.

    Any advice gladly taken.

    Cheers, Adam.

SP101 is the best I’ve used in years. I’d put it ahead of FG1 now

    Thanks for the feedback.
Seeing SP101 for around £35 per sheet, seem reasonable?

    For 9mm ? Yes that’s great.

For 5.5mm, 9mm is more like £50 per sheet which will push budget too far.

I assume 5.5mm floor grade will be better than 9mm non-floor grade though?

Fg1 is very soft. Sp101 is machined very well. If your subfloor is flat it will sot perfectly

    SP101 vs FG1 vs SC117 ply - there all just brand names from Independant importers/distributors (SP101 Hanson / FG1 Lionvest / SC117 International Timber)
Yes they are decent products but batches are very consistant (bought from serval suppliers) ... Q Ply is one of the only certified products available which is independantly tested by BM Trada https://www.bmtrada.com/timber-services/plywood-testing
