Received this in the early hours today in my email inbox : Matt (@flooring_forum) has sent you a direct message on Twitter! The message had a link but the URL had been disabled. Just thought I would let you know as it seemed malicious. I have now deleted it. Cheers.
Its a hack ! I get them all the time What happens is you get a DM from a follower (whos already been hacked) saying something like: Have you seem this pic of you or someone is saying nasty things about you or Do you want to buy a cheap Rolex watch ? There's a link in the DM & when u open it nothing happens for ages...then you see a message saying twitter has timed out (which it doesn't ) & asks you to re-enter you username & password ? So thats what people do coz it looks like its from twitter but you've just given your password to the hackers ! Then they start sending DMs to your followers & posting diet tips with dodgy links & it just keeps going round in circles ???? Can't see any point to it to be fare ?
It's not fake as I run it for the flooring forum, its been hacked and I'm trying to sort it out. Matt is on twitter under floor skills.
The flooring forum account was shut down a while back when i joined as 'floorSkills' . Some how it has been reactivated and spam using it. Twitter has some massive security issues. A lot gets blammed on people being told to relogin etc. That should never happen as that is a seprate page trying to open that twitter should be blocking and checking etc. How many of you have that sort of thing happen on facebook or on other forums etc? its twitter !
I've never been hacked on twitter coz the hacks are blatant But it happens a lot on there I must get about 3 dodgy DM's a week !
