I have read that you need F3 to stick down gel backed carpet onto a concrete floor, but I wasn't looking to spend as much as that costs. What would happen if I use a carpet spray from Wickes, such as Wickes Flooring Adhesive Spray 500ml

Would it simply not stick down or would it ruin the carpet in some way?

    I have a gel backed carpet from onlinecarpets.co.uk, for a 9 x 4m rectangular room.

This is just for my personal use, for an outbuilding I have in the garden.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

It all depends on how flat and smooth your concrete is and also if there's any damp present, which if it's an outbuilding there probably is.
Using any carpet adhesive is going to use a lot on unsmoothed concrete so a spray will give you a bit of a grip but unless you get loads on not a strong bond, why is f3 so expensive you could consider the spray but be prepared to buy quite a few cans

Spray will stick like mad but not good for your health. F3 is the best adhesive for sticking carpet or you could use a tackifier rolled on thin. It will always be tacki tho
