Well done gripper, this brings back so many memories, i never used it myself, it was the senior fitter. i learnt how to hand sew though because the machine wuold miss occasionally and i would over sew that , and 6inches either end where the machine didn,t reach
Bloody he'll, memories, I've not seen one of those for over 25 years, a old fitter from Sheffield called Harry Raven (if memory serves me right) as well as fitting, he had a lock up where his wife used to seam stuff up either by hand or with one of those machines. God that takes me back. The strange thing about Harry was he very rarely used to work on his knees apart from stretching on, he squated down knees wide apart, bloody wierd, but a very nice old fella.
